IPL 2020 Dates Confirmed Between September 19 – November 8

Good news for all the cricket fans across the country. Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has confirmed the dates of IPL 2020. The dates for the 13th Season for the best league in the world i.e. Indian Premier League has been confirmed by the BCCI Governing Council chairman Brijesh Patel on Friday (July 24).

In the latest interview, given to ANI, Brijesh Patel said that the IPL 2020 will take place from September 19 to November 8. He added that due to COVID19 pandemic, it is not possible for IPL 2020 to be host in India and that’s why 13th edition of the IPL will take place in United Arab Emirates (UAE) between September 19 and November 8.

The excerpts of his interview are ““We have had a discussion and we are looking at the September 19 to November 8 window for this edition of the league. We have informed the franchise about the same,”

When he was asked about the availability of England and Australian crickets for the said IPL duration, he said “Shouldn’t be a problem. The England-Australia series ends on September 15. So, we should have them flying in directly to Dubai. We will discuss the final matters in the governing council meeting next week,”

Though the schedule of the tournament is yet to be finalised but it is believed that the schedule of the IPL 2020 will be finalised in the next week’s meeting of IPL Governing Council Meetings. As we had reported earlier, all the franchises have already started logistics related preparation for the IPL in UAE.

Once the ICC postponed the Men’s T20 World Cup 2020 scheduled in Australia later this year, it was assumed that IPL could take place in the vacated window. Now the IPL Governing Council Chairman has stopped all the rumours about the IPL 202.
